About the Book
Winning the World Series may be the ultimate prize for most MLB players,
but a relationship with Jesus Christ is No. 1 for many diamond stars, including:
  • Hall of Famer John Smoltz
  • Three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw
  • MVP Albert Pujols
  • All-Star Mariano Rivera
  • And dozens more.
Baseball Faith will inspire you in your faith journey as 52 MLB players–past and present–share their stories and how they are chasing the success that only comes from being God’s man and following His plan. These men are committed to living their lives with eternity in mind. Empowered by God, they are looking beyond the competition to a larger goal: following God’s game plan for their lives as team players, as husbands, fathers, sons, and then using their influence to point others toward Him.
My Perspective

This book is a must read for baseball fans! It was so interesting to not only read player stats, but to read about all of the player’s faith and how God is working in their lives. I already knew that some of these players were Christians, but some of them were a nice surprise to me. How wonderful that they were willing to give a word of testimony in such a public way!

I enjoyed seeing all the verses that impacted these ball players. Their words were so encouraging, especially in a world that idolizes athletes – I can see where some players may lost sight of what is really important. I think there is a generalization of why athletes play – money, fame, etc… It was very refreshing to have these guys provide a new perspective on their lives.

I hope that fans around the country get a hold of this book and are inspired by it. It is clear these guys are concentrating on what is most important to them, their love for Christ! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
