My Perspective

I felt the authors did a great job of sharing relatable stories that touched my heart. I connected with some chapters more than others, which is true of any similar book that I read. I think if I were to do this again, at a slower pace, I would chose to read one chapter daily as a devotional. At the beginning of each chapter is a bible verse – although I will mention that there is more than one bible translation used in this book, so I recommend having your bible with it to look it up on your own. The feel of this book was almost similar to a “My Daily Bread” book, or similar devotional. The only difference being the questions at the end.

Speaking of which, I really liked the questions provided at the end of each chapter. Some of them I found myself wanting to pretend I didn’t read them (basically because I didn’t want to approach that particular issue). The truth is, we all need that sometimes. Someone (or a book) to ask the difficult questions that will make us examine our walk with the Lord, the life we are living, and the example to others that we want to be. I appreciate the time and effort the authors must have put into creating these questions.

Overall I thought this was a nice devotional type book. I encourage you to give it a try, but read it slowly so that you can really concentrate on the versus and the questions. Who knows – maybe it’ll help your walk with the Lord! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and ideas are my own.

  1. Cool! I really like that devotional format, that draws you in and makes you think. And I agree, I kind of like my blinders, and pretending that I didn’t really just read/hear THAT QUESTION, is easy to do. Finding the confidence to really examine what needs examining, is hard, but SO worth it!

  3. I have read A God for All Seasons twice now and ordered the kindle version so that I can have it at a moment no matter where I am. A perfect way to remind myself that it is okay to be in a different season spiritually and to find the beauty in each one to help us appreciate the next. Thank you for sharing!
